This is a very easy and creative zebra cake. Chocolate and Vanilla layers give zebra effect to the cake.
All purpose flour/Maida – 300 gm
Baking soda – 1.5 tsp
Milk – 360 ml
Powdered sugar – 300 gm
Vinegar – 1.5 tsp
Any vegetable / neutral flavored oil -180 ml
Coco powder – 4 tbsp
Vanilla essence – 1 tsp
Butter an 8 inch cake tin. Pre-heat the oven at 350ºF/180ºC.
Sift together flour and baking soda in a mixing bowl. Add milk, sugar, vinegar and oil.
Mix it very well with wisk/hand mixer. Add the dry ingredients in the wet ingredients.
Divide the batter equally in 2 bowls.Add coco powder in one mixture and vanilla essence in another mixture and mix well.
Now, the creative part starts. Spoon two tablespoons of the vanilla mixture into the center of the cake tin. Straight away spoon two tablespoons of the chocolate mixture on top. Continue doing this until all the mixture has been used. You will end up with lots of alternate rings of mixture in the tin.
Bake for 35 minutes or until the toothpick comes out clean.
Cool the cake on wire rack and serve with chocolate sauce/vanilla ice cream.
