I tried whipped cream frosting to decorate a birthday cake. The recipe is very simple and quick. (Click here for basic cake recipe)

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Decoration time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:

Heavy whipping cream – 500 ml
Powdered sugar – 1 cup
Vanilla extract – 1 tsp
Food color – 1 to 2 drops

Method:

Put mixing bowl and hand mixer tools/whisk in freezer for 10 minutes. This will help to keep whipping frosting cool and firm while making it.  Take  500 ml heavy whipping cream in a mixing bowl.

If you are using a hand mixer then start whisking it on medium speed for 3 minutes or until u get thick and firm cream. (If you are using hand whisk then you need to whisk it for 10 minutes very fast)

Add  1 cup powdered sugar and 1 tsp vanilla extract. And frosting is ready. Use this frosting immediately.

Take you cake on rolling stand and cut it into half. apply icing on half of the cake and put another part of cake on it. Cover the cake with icing.

Take some part of your frosting in small bowl. Add 1 to 2 drops of food color of your choice. Fill it in a piping bag and decorate as you like 🙂 Sprinkle some rainbow sprinkler on top. Put the cake in refrigerator until you serve it.
